Mountain Biking

Mini has spent the summer of 2016 training towards his Mountain bike leader and coaching qualifications

Currently qualified to MIAS Level 2  and on a fast track training towards MIAS Level 4

Mini is a dedicated mountain bike rider plus a qualified BASI level 2 snowboard instructor with many seasons experience in the Italian Alps. He has given more than 15,000 hours of tuition and is very experienced in mountain environments, he can safely lead his clients around the interesting, challenging and sometimes demanding areas of the Peak District.

The primary aim of the rides are to follow the structure of  SEL:

  • Safety
  • Enjoyment
  • Learning

He will lead a ride in a safe manner, he will ensure its enjoyable and you will learn to control your bike during the ride.

He will focus on:

  • Use of gears, brakes, steering, suspension
  • Stance, posture and body positioning
  • Observation and reading terrain features

You will have an upgraded knowledge of how your bike works and where to place your body for different types of terrain, this will improve your climbing, your descents and your level of fun while out on your bike.

A skillful knowledgeable rider is a stress free rider and a stress free rider is a happier and safer rider.

Mini has a full enhanced DBS disclosure (previously known as CRB) and subscribes to the annual DBS update service.

He has up to date activity based first aid training.

He undergoes annual safeguarding children training.
