Mountain bike beginners coaching April 22nd £40
New to mountain biking? Learn to ride technical features with a half day technique workshop.
The aim of this ride, is to work on riders’ confidence. Many new riders are nervous about speed and will spend most of a ride using their brakes when they are not needed therefore risking low speed stalls, lack of flow and a serious reduction of fun!
Mountain bike instructor Mini will provide feedback on technique, approaching obstacles and body-position, giving instruction and assistance to help the rider work towards improving and removing common faults. With guidance on the day that you can take away and practice.
The session will be a mornings’ mountain bike ride, taking in both natural and man-made trails. Starting at the Fox House Inn near Hathersage and heading along Houndkirk over to Lady Cannings Plantation. The man-made trail there allows for repeated practice and the chance for observation and feedback on performance. Depending on the groups there are multiple options for routes on our way back.
The ride will start at 9am with the aim for a noon finish time, it will start with a quick mechanical check of the riders’ bikes and assistance setting up seat height and suspension sag if required. A safe bike is a fun bike.
Please note helmets and gloves MUST be worn and all riders should carry clothing appropriate for the day. Please also bring any water/snacks you feel you could need.
Remember riding a bike is a physical activity.
The cost for this ride is £40. Payment can be made on the day in cash, or prior via, paypal or bank transfer.
Mini is fully insured, has an enhanced DBS check, safeguarding children training, is first aid trained and carries a first aid kit plus tools to try and cover any trailside needs.
